AES 256-Bit hardware encryption | FIPS 140-2 Certified Models

High-Performance | TAA Compliant | Hardware-Based, Self-Encrypting Drives

Kanguru introduces an exceptional new line of Hardware-Based, Self-Encrypting Drives designed to help organizations secure and protect their data. Kanguru has partnered with Cigent®, to integrate additional cutting-edge endpoint protection into the suite of Kanguru Opal SED's. With military grade AES 256-bit hardware encryption and FIPS 140-2 certification on select models, all information stored on Kanguru Opal-Compliant solid state drives is highly secure. Cigent Technology adds advanced security capabilities via its Data Defense encryption and security platform.

The Benefits of Using Kanguru Opal SEDs

The Kanguru Opal SED self-encrypting drive automatically locks itself when powered off, making all data stored within, including the OS, completely inaccessible.

Kanguru's military grade, AES 256-bit hardware encryption is applied to the entire drive using stand-alone, independent hardware-based encryption security, not just specific files or folders.

The Kanguru Opal SED can be unlocked from a secure pre-boot environment. The on-board Pre-boot Authenticator (PBA) allows the authorized user to unlock the drive with a password.

Once unlocked, the Kanguru Opal SED behaves like a normal SSD.

The Kanguru Opal Commander provides ideal management of the Kanguru Opal SED, with an onboard, dedicated hardware encryption processor.

Kanguru has also partnered with Cigent® to supply advanced data security with the Kanguru Data Defense™ by Cigent®. Cigent’s powerful data protection and encryption technology are provided though a zero-trust security application to ensure only authorized users and processes have access to the data. Running Data Defense on the Kanguru SED300 provides Government-Certified Data at Rest, delivering high levels of compliance with minimal interaction from the end user.
