HD Pro Duplicator - Main Copy Menu - Erase

Updated on Feb 26, 2026

Erase deletes all information on any drive connected to the duplicator. The KanguruClone duplicator offers the following erase options:

Quick Erase

Overwrite the partition table. This is the quickest erase mode, but least secure.

Disk Erase

Overwrite all sectors. This is a slower erase mode but more secure.

Ratio Erase

Ratio allows you to erase a defined percentage of the target drives.

Disk Wipe

Disk Wipe deletes all information on any connected Target drives by writing zeros into each sector of the hard drive, sector by sector. The Wipe permanently removes data, making it almost impossible to recover.

Security Erase

Secure Erase is a set of firmware commands on many ATA drives that securely overwrite all data, effectively sanitizing the drive. It is especially effective for SSDs, as it resets all cells to an empty state and restores the drive to its factory default configuration.

Enhanced Security Erase

Enhanced Security Erase is a set of firmware commands on many ATA drives that securely overwrite all data, making it an effective method of data sanitization. Unlike traditional disk wiping methods, it can fully sanitize SSDs by either overwriting data or destroying internal encryption keys, depending on the drive.

Note: The Source port is not able to be erased unless you enable Erase Source Port located under Main Setup.
