If you are looking for a high-speed, fast, high-performance device for Windows To Go, or for running any other Operating System, the UltraLock USB-C M.2 NVMe SSD is an ideal choice.
+Please Note: Microsoft no longer supports third party vendor formal certification of Windows To Go drives, however, Kanguru continues to support customers wishing to boot from USB drives in intensive Read/Write environments.
This device was designed with Windows To Go compatibility in mind. Due to its high performance NVMe functionality typically used inside laptops, it is well served for WTG applications. The Kanguru UltraLock USB-C M.2 NVMe SSD does not come with Windows To Go® installed. Although it has not been certified/approved by Microsoft as a Windows To Go drive, Kanguru is confident that this device meets/exceeds the usage criteria for WTG devices.

The new Kanguru UltraLock USB-C M.2 NVMe External SSD is a high-performance, easy-to-use, portable storage device that works on both Macs and PCs. It is a SuperSpeed+ USB 3.1 Gen 2 portable, external SSD with super fast read and write speeds. With up to 675MB/s Sequential Read speed and 575 MB/s Sequential Write, it's one of the fastest external USB drives on the market.
The UltraLock USB-C M.2 NVMe SSD contains Secure Firmware to protect the device from being used as a vehicle by third-party hackers to deliver malicious malware to a network. With secure firmware, the device would shut down automatically in the event it was tampered with, making it an excellent option for security-conscious organizations to trust secure firmware devices on their network, and for whitelisting in Endpoint Security environments.
The physical write protect switch provides peace of mind to work safely on any computer, allowing you to quickly and conveniently switch to read-only mode if you suspect a virus on a workstation. Read-only mode protects the drive from being written to, and important files from being accidentally saved over or deleted.

The UltraLock NVMe SSD uses NVMe technology, providing more advanced speed and compatibility. Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) is an advanced, high-performance, scalable host controller interface designed to bring more efficiency and effectiveness for storage devices, and communication with a computer's CPU and memory.
NVMe is significantly faster than traditional spinning hard disk drives, in that it is designed to leverage low latency and high throughput of NAND flash memory. This results in a higher bandwidth to the CPU for significantly faster data transfer speeds, and lower latency, for better performance.
NVMe takes advantage of the parallelism of modern SSDs, which allows multiple queues and commands to process simultaneously. Where older SATA interfaces use a single command queue, NVMe is able to handle multiple read and write requests at the same time.
